Aiden and Baby Sadie

I recently stumbled across these pictures of early Aiden and Sadie ❤️ Some of these were their very first pictures together from the day she was born to when she was a couple months old. Aiden was a month shy of 3 when Sadie was born and he was the sweetest big brother from the very beginning. He really loved her, and she always looked up to him. Even through all the years they grew up together and the occasional sibling squabble, they were close until the day Aiden left us😢❤️ They had become such good friends, especially over the last year:( I've been thinking of them a lot this past week as we celebrated Sadie's birthday. I know it was hard for her to not have him here to celebrate with us, it was hard for all of us 😢 But I tell her all the time that he's still with her. I ask him all the time to watch over his Sadie girl and to stay close because she still needs him. I think he does.

I also recently learned about something that happened to them the winter before he passed, and it answered some questions about some smudges that had magically appeared on the passenger window of our van. Apparently they had been driving on some slick backroads one night on their way home from something they were doing and as Aiden rounded a corner, the van slid into someone's mailbox and totally took it out. He was like, "Oh no Sadie what do I do!?" She was like...🤷 So he walked the walk of shame to their doorstep to let them know. No one was home so he wrote them a note that he was sorry he ran over their mailbox and left his phone number... in their destroyed mailbox🤦😉 It turned out that they had ended up texting him and told him thank you for letting them know and owning up to it, but that it was ok, they would get it taken care of. I was grateful to hear of their kindness to him❤️ It was a little bit terrifying to know that I had no idea this had ever happened, and it made me a little scared for other things I may not know about (Lol!), but I was proud of the integrity he showed when he could have just driven off and I'm grateful for his example to Sadie. Hopefully it makes up for any times that he may not have been the best example, there may have been a time or two😉❤️
