Vamping 2014
We used to camp in our van before it was cool... We called it "vamping" and there's a pretty good chance it started because we were too broke one time to spend a bunch of money on hotels, but we still wanted to go somewhere, and then decided it actually worked pretty well Lol🤣 This particular trip was in 2014 and Colton was only 3 months old (having tiny babies never stopped any of our crazy adventures, they learned from a young age😆). We headed down to Southern Utah (our favorite stomping ground) and went to duck creek, which had always been one of our favorite places, cedar breaks national monument which is kind of like a mini Bryce Canyon, actual Bryce Canyon, Kodachrome basin which I think is a state park, and Capitol Reef. It was fall time so the leaves were changing in Duck Creek which is one of our favorite times of year there because it's always so beautiful! We had never been to Cedar Breaks somehow before this trip, and it was really fun to go see it. It really was just like a mini Bryce Canyon, with the beautiful views and cool hoo doos (those rocks that stick up like fingers, that's what they're called 😆) And Kodachrome basin has remained one of my all-time favorite places since this trip. It's small and there's really not too much going on, but it's really beautiful and we took a really fun hike to an arch called Shakespeare Arch that had a funny little cave like area underneath it. The kids loved playing in it and said it was their cave house🥰 We found an amazing Campground called red cliffs which I think was near Bryce Canyon, and it became our first choice anytime we were back in the area. The view was so beautiful with the Red Cliffs in the background behind the trees. This was only the second time we had ever been to Capitol Reef and I I think was the trip that we discovered the Gifford house and their delicious pie and one dollar cups of ice cream😍 This was a really fun trip ❤️ I'm pretty sure we called in sick to work on Monday to stretch it out one more day because we were having so much fun...We probably missed a lot of Mondays those days 😆 Naughty naughty, as Aiden would say in his Indian accent 😉😆
