Dinosaur National Monument

Dinosaur National Monument, Vernal Utah. This is not a well-known or celebrated National Park / Monument but it's one of our favorite memories. We spent a few days there, and there were a lot of things to see and do. The kids loved the wall of dinosaur bones at the monument, and it was also really fun to drive around to all the different places and see all the cool different things in the area. There were lots of petroglyphs that were really cool, especially the one of the lizard. It's hard to tell but it is actually 5 ft long and one of the only places you can find petroglyphs of lizards. I guess they're pretty rare. We've for sure never seen another one! We also went and saw a really cool cabin and learned about a lady who homesteaded the area alone for like 40 years...so crazy! One day, we drove up over a hill and saw hundreds of deer, the most deer we've ever seen in one place EVER, and laughed so hard at you guys' commentary of "whoa, look at all them deer, that's a lot of deer" and then how you proceeded to make a song out of it and sang it over and over the rest of the trip Lol. Every time I see a lot of deer, I still sing it to myself 😉

We found a hike to a cave and a Natural Bridge and it was pretty dusty and hot but the arch and caves were pretty fun to explore. On the way back to our car, somebody decided that we should have a family race and we learned that even at his old age, Trav can still haul so much butt and outrun every single one of us🤣 someone almost had to pick me up off the ground because I couldn't believe it, I was laughing so hard 😆 I had no idea he could run that fast!!! I was like, what!? After four kids and like, probably 15 years of marriage, how did I have no idea that you were that freaking fast!?

These memories are some of my favorites ❤️ U just never know how a random little road trip to an undecorated place might turn in to some the best memories...this one definitely did. They always did, we always had fun even doing the dumbest stuff 😉❤️🥲 I love the picture of Aiden and the petroglyph, it's one of my favorites still❤️ Love you Aiden ❤️ I loved this trip and our time spent together ❤️
