Sequoia National Park
Sequoia NP. This one was a little bit crazy, especially to get to! We were following GPS (which was kind of in the earlier days of GPS and didn't work worth crap) and had gotten out of Death Valley really late so a lot of our drive was in the dark. It was in April so there was a lot of snow in a lot of places still. Our GPS took us to a mountain range, and there were signs that said you needed to have chains as we started going up. We kind of looked at each other like 🤷 and just kept going 😆 We didn't see one single car as we were going up this pitch black, super foresty mountain range and then snow started showing up on the sides of the road and we were really unsure if we were going to make it out of that mountain range! Our GPS lost service and we were totally lost, plus it was one of the darkest nights we've ever traveled. I told Trav not to stop anywhere or we would get eaten by werewolves😆 We finally got spit out the other side and managed to find our hotel at about 1:00 a.m. only the hotel wasn't a hotel that was open all night and had a lobby that you could check in whenever, it was a tiny bed and breakfast type place and the lobby was closed and dark. We didn't have any check-in info and I was starting to panic that we were going to have to sleep in our van or something that night! And I didn't have water to make Lynlee a bottle so that was really bad too😆 There was nothing around, we were kind of in the middle of nowhere, no other hotels or even a town site anywhere, and our GPS still wasn't working😳 Trav got out and walked up to the door and the owner just happened to be downstairs and walked by and saw him and it was like hey are you the Beasleys? We didn't know if you were coming but we have a room for you! We were like, PHEW!!!! 😉😆 We were getting worried! 😆 Sequoia was really beautiful but as you can see from the pictures, still very snowy! It was ok though because the snow made it kind of magical🥰 it was awesome to see all the crazy, giant trees. They were awe-inspiring and the area was beautiful. It was definitely worth the trip even if there were some slightly terrifying moments 😉
