Hovenweep

It's been nice to look back on some of our national park trips, so I found another one for today😊❤️ This was one of the lesser known, but really cool places we've found. Hovenweep and canyon of the ancients on the Utah-Colorado border. This one was different than most parks/monuments we've been to, and had a few different sites that you had to drive and hike to. The sites were different pueblos, kivas, towers, and prehistoric villages built between like, 700-800 years ago.

Aiden was about 8 and Colton wasn't even born yet, and we learned that when you ask others how much longer the hike is til u get to the next one and they tell you about a half mile...Never believe them. It's most certainly NOT a half mile, it's like 2 more miles😉😆

We really loved this place though, and it's still one of the coolest places we've ever been. We were there as the sun was setting one evening, and it was just a really neat feeling place. you guys loved being able to run around and explore, and it was perfect for Aiden and Sadie...except the sheer canyon drop-offs that many of the pueblos were built on, those were a little freaky😉
