Little Wild Horse Slot Canyon

Image
Little Wild Horse slot canyon. This was a fun slot canyon near Goblin Valley in Utah. There were some wild spots with downed trees and boulders that we had to to traverse and I was glad trav was carrying Colton in the backpack and not me... Trav's a mountain goat! It got so small in places that we couldn't pass people and there were people spider walking above us to get around, it was so funny! It started to rain so we had to get the heck out of there, but we were able to make it quite a ways in and got to see a lot of it. It was a really fun hike that the kids all loved a lot!

Matanuska Glacier Adventure; Alaska 2021

Image
These are from our hike across the Matanuska glacier near Palmer, AK. We hiked through a glacier slot canyon which was one of the coolest things we've ever done! We drank glacier water and Colton got to hold our guide's ice pick for a picture😉 Our guide told the kids they needed a "glacial facial" which meant putting rejuvenating glacier mud on their faces, which they were happy to oblige😆 This was definitely a highlight of our trip to Alaska. We all had so much fun❤️ I've really liked looking back through our Alaska highlights, I'm a little bit sad this is the last one!🥲 It's ok though, finding memories of Aiden to post has been really good for me I think, and I've looked forward to finding highlights of fun things we've done❤️ Thinking about all the good times and memories, and how loved Aiden and all our sweet kids have been all these years helps me. We love them all so much 🥲❤️ I think Aiden knew he was so loved.  I think we gave him a goo...

Alaskan Wildlife Conservation Center; Alaska Trip 2021

Image
The last of our Alaska highlights 🥰...except for one last one tomorrow 😉 The first 5 of these pics are from the Alaskan wildlife conservation center in Anchorage, which was a super fun place to visit and had lots of cool critters to walk around and see, and the last 5 are from Homer, AK. Homer was a lot of fun too, these were all from the Homer Spit which was a super long skinny piece of land that went out into the ocean and where most of the fishing charters left from. There were lots of gift shops and fun places to wander around and see, and we were so excited to find the buttwhackers fishing charter to get a picture at Lol😆 We found some cool swings under a building and Aiden swung way out over the water, we thought for sure it was going to break and dump him right in the ocean😆

Alaska Sea Life Center; Alaska Trip 2021

Image
Alaska Sea Life Center in Seward, AK. This was one of the kids' favorite stops. The first picture is one of my favorites, Aiden has such a good smile🥲❤️ We were petting the starfish in that one 🥰 We watched a seal show and visited the puffin sanctuary, saw lots of cool aquarium critters, learned about what all the kinds of salmon are, and lots of other fun stuff. It was a fun stop and extra cool because there's a vet show that we watch about an Alaskan vet, Dr. Oakley, and she goes to this aquarium sometimes so it was cool to get to see it in person! We really liked Seward, Ak🥰

Kenai Fjords National Park; Alaska Trip 2021

Image
These were from Kenai Fjords National Park in Seward, Alaska. We almost got rained out of this one but we just went anyway lol! This was a really cool area, it was fun to see some really awesome leaves changing, especially all the cute little tiny trees right in front of the glacier! Exit glacier was fun to see and one of the few that you can hike up to. On the crazy boat ride that we took we saw two other glaciers which were really cool too, but like those, you have to take a boat ride to get to a lot of the glaciers in Alaska. This one was cool though because we got to hike to it🥰 and it was a short hike so Aiden didn't even complain😉

Alaska State Fair 2021

Image
After yesterday's post of Denali, I've been thinking of our Alaska adventures and all the fun things we got to do so I thought I'd post a couple more❤️ One thing I didn't notice when I booked this trip was that we were going to miss our fair. When the kids found out, I thought they were never going to forgive me 😆 but I did some research and found out that the Alaska state fair would be going on in Palmer, AK at the same time, so what better way to redeem myself than to get to go to theirs instead!? The kids were still mad at me, but less so once we got there and found out that it was actually so much fun to get to go to theirs😉😆 We also don't complain about the cost to get into ours anymore because it was like, $90 just to get in the gate! And the rides were even more expensive too, so we only went on a few. They had the kamikaze/hammerheads so we told Aiden and Sadie they HAD to go, it was such a blast from the past of our childhood 😆 they loved it though! We...
